                                                                                                  Quel festival?

We are currently offering 4 popular French-Canadian festivals.  Our Festival du Voyageur is available all year round as it is one of the most popular.

In the winter and spring, we offer you the choice between the Voyageur Festival or another festival depending on the time of year as follows:

 Avec qui est-ce qu'on travail?

We organize and facilitate festivals for grades 3-6 core, extended French, or French immersion classes.

The interactive mini-lesson content is best aligned with junior level FSL curriculum, and Junior level social studies curriculum.

Younger students also love our cultural activities, games, and crafts, but may need more adults or older students to help with the face-painting and craft decorating. With such support, we can adapt our lessons to celebrate with grade 2s as well.

Although the crafts, games and lessons are not suited for the developmental level of K-Gr 1 or intermediate level students,  if F.E.T.E brings a different festival to your school each year, all students can look forward to fun cultural festivals in their Junior years.

 Comment est-ce que ça déroule?

F.E.T.E (Festivals Éducatifs à Ton École) celebrates your chosen
festival with 3 separate classes or groups per day.

Each session is 1.5 hours long and includes 5 fun-filled activities
that students are sure to remember for years to come!

Our session size allows up to 30 students, which means we can
teach and celebrate with up to 90 students per day at your school.

Depending on the size of your school, and the number of classes you would like us to celebrate with, F.E.T.E can facilitate at your school for 1-3 consecutive days.  And of course, you are welcome to have us back later in the year to celebrate any one of our other festivals!

Combien est-ce ça coute?

Teachers often use special purpose grants from the Ministry of Education that are allocated for French cultural enrichment opportunities to fully pay for F.E.T.E to come to their school. Please ask your board level FSL coordinator how you can access these funds.  This is how so many teachers bring F.E.T.E to their school at little or no cost to the school or students.

Other common ways teachers get funding is by  asking the Parent Council  to contribute, and or asking the local CPF chapter  (Canadian Parents for French)  for funds which originate from Heritage Canada.  To see if there is a CPF chapter in your area, or to start one locally,  visit :
https://on.cpf.ca/about-us/chapters/

Some teachers prefer to skip the funding application route and simply send a F.E.T.E permission form home for students to participate and contribute their share to cover the costs of this unique opportunity. Many teachers who apply for funding use this option as a back-up which guarantees your students can enjoy this experience either way, and with no delay. Based on a full-capacity day of up to 90 students, F.E.T.E is only $10 per student.  Many schools charge $5 and  find funding for the remainder from one of the above mentioned sources.

When choosing the participation-fee route, parents find it a worthwhile investment for engaging their child in second language and cultural enrichment, especially when they see the craft their child has made, hear about the fun they had, the lessons learned, and see photos of their costumes in the class or school newsletter and at assemblies.

"Can you please come back  again? I want to learn about other festivals!"
